#MicroblogMondays: Leap Day odds & ends

*  It's February 29th -- Leap Year Day, which only comes around once every four years.
* I was glad I managed to stay awake until the end of the Oscars last night to see "Spotlight" win Best Picture. Dh & I saw five of the eight Best Picture nominees (the exceptions being Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant and Room), and it was our mutual favourite. Just an all-round excellent movie -- well written and extremely well acted.
*  It's day 59 (!) since Aunt Flo last made an appearance... her previous record absence was 58 days, back in my 40s, and most of my cycles recently have been 30-35 days. While I suppose it's too much to hope that she'll stay away another 306 days (thereby officially launching me into menopause), it definitely looks like I have (finally!) started heading in that direction. At age 55, no less...!! :p
*  More on condos shortly. :)

  1. The only thing I miss about not having cable is seeing things like that. I never really watched award shows but of course now that I can't I always want to.

  2. We saw Spotlight on Sunday, and loved it! I'm thinking about going to see Room this week, as I loved the book. We also saw The Big Short, and thought that was a great movie. It is frustrating though - walking out of the cinema furious at the injustices we see in the world, rather than laughing or feeling warm and fuzzy!

Here's hoping AF stays away. Just always make sure you have supplies with you just in case she reappears. Cos if you don't, you know she will, when you least expect her!

    1. We loved The Big Short too, maddening as it was. Very well done and a great way to explain things in a way most people will be able to understand.

As for AF, don't worry, I'm always packing. ;)

  5. Haven't seen any of the Oscar nominated films, sadly. I just wanted to see Chris Rock's monologue and the red carpet parade. And that's it for me!Still getting Ant Flo here, not sure why, but considering how lack of estrogen has effected me so far, I suppose that's positive.

  6. The little bit of the Oscars I caught made me put Spotlight and Bridge of Spies on my to-see list.
