Still, I want to say, that my happy ending does not automatically turn me into "my story had a happy ending and yours can too, so don't ever give up hope, because it was all worth it" -kinda person. I may not understand it all, but I understand a lot.

And never mind, this is probably just my trauma lifting its head again...

P.S. My blog is only about our IF journey, not its end.PNGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14785627826838016924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3178366214524455884.post-63735162220547400712013-09-16T06:48:33.639-04:002013-09-16T06:48:33.639-04:00I haven't read Miriam's book yet. Yes, the trauma of infertility has long lasting effects - not just for those of us who don't walk away with children, but for those who do, whether naturally, through fertility treatments or adoption.Malihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03928262526502319303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3178366214524455884.post-41417275275402273182013-09-15T21:05:18.938-04:002013-09-15T21:05:18.938-04:00I loved this: "just because the doctor appoin...I loved this: "just because the doctor appointments, the injections, the egg transfers and the dashed hopes are over, it does not mean that the trauma is over."

20 books and so many more months to go...Lollipop Goldsteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01020874415819057995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3178366214524455884.post-42645161606688896222013-09-15T19:21:52.695-04:002013-09-15T19:21:52.695-04:00Thanks for your review of this book- I wasn't...Thanks for your review of this book- I wasn't sure until I read your post. That helped me to put it on my wish list (and Goodread and bookswap, that is).

I rather like that how you put it, "I could relate so well to the rollercoaster of emotions and the downward spiral of depression that Miriam describes with raw honesty in this book. The drive to become a parent -- the willingness to submit our bodies, spirits and pocketbooks to all sorts of beatings, even in the face of overwhelming odds -- and the endurance of the human spirit through all kinds of trauma -- is an amazing thing."Wolfershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12937704236275533865noreply@blogger.com
