(Although I might have more of a chance to visit all the Montgomery sites if it was just me & dh, lol.) <br /> Dh indulged me with a trip to Leaskdale, Ontario, a few years back, which was about a 40-minute drive north of where were living -- it's where Montgomery lived after her marriage from 1910 through the mid-1920s, while her husband was the Presbyterian minister there, and she wrote several of her books there, including "Rilla." The Montgomery Society of Ontario now owns both the church & the nearby house -- we had a tour & then attended a one-woman play at the church, based on her diaries during those years. Dh was indulging me -- it was right after I lost my job -- but even he enjoyed it a lot! She also lived in Norval, which is about 30-40 minutes west of where I'm NOW living, and the local Montgomery society has bought the house she lived in there with the idea of fixing it up as they did in Leaskdale. I'm looking forward to visiting there someday (post-COVID) too! loribethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09272814565916935113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3178366214524455884.post-85070444676531674312020-06-18T01:11:09.872-04:002020-06-18T01:11:09.872-04:00You're racing ahead of your challenge total! I...You're racing ahead of your challenge total! I'm not sure I ever read this one, but I always loved the Anne books, and of course went to Green Gables when we were on PEI (much to DH's bemusement). We've since watched the TV series (I'm so sad it has stopped), and we both loved it. I think it was done brilliantly. And now, DH gets it. I think.Malihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03928262526502319303noreply@blogger.com
