Loving the sound of the walk with your DH as well as your breakfast and treats! :-D This year I escaped from M Day here by doing an impromptu trip (I actually hadn't realized it coincided with M Day when I booked the trip). But, it ended up being nice and the kids gave me a sweet card. I did avoid Facebook and for most of the day laid in a bed reading book. I think avoiding Facebook is key for me as that is the worst on Mother's Day.

Congrats on making it through the day!nicolehttp://nicoleciomek.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3178366214524455884.post-83639586383601866512015-05-12T14:39:59.040-04:002015-05-12T14:39:59.040-04:00Was thinking about you and all of our tribe. You seem to know what are the better choices for the day to minimize your pain.

It was not an easy morning for me. I had a really hard time getting out of bed. Once I did, I knew it would be best to get out of the apartment with my fiance. Oddly, we went to Disney's Epcot. We live in Florida and have resident annual passes. It was the Flower and Garden show, so there wasn't any focus on the holiday. It wasn't terribly crowded and had the usual flow of families, nothing out of the ordinary. But, thinking back on it, we did see a good number of older couples strolling about the park together as we stopped in the shade to people watch now and again. Disney is strangely a good place to hide away from the typical May holiday routines. You can be out in the sunshine and among families without it being the focus. Epcot also tends to be a favorite among adults, too.Jamiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06275071143469111072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3178366214524455884.post-1266286260715818742015-05-11T21:26:36.772-04:002015-05-11T21:26:36.772-04:00That sounds like a great way to spend the day (min...That sounds like a great way to spend the day (minus the screaming toddler). Me, I try to avoid any public place where I will be reminded. Being whisked away for a birthday getaway certainly helped this year. Glad it's over, and glad the squirrels are quiet, hopefully for a good long while!Jesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15868505568965284742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3178366214524455884.post-87564885316830783352015-05-11T20:42:23.190-04:002015-05-11T20:42:23.190-04:00Glad to hear you had a nice day! The Salted Caramel Pretzel Blizzard was not as good as I'd hoped it would be (too sweet!).

Hubs also made me a F*** Mother's Day steak dinner. I spent the rest of the afternoon reading and drinking wine. For the most part I handled it well. Better than I expected to, actually!
