Delurk!

Melissa at Stirrup Queens has reminded us that it's International Blog Delurking Week. :)  Says Mel:

"The first full week of January (January 3 – 9, 2021) is when we’re supposed to slither out of the reading closet and check in with an “I’m here” comment. I’m not sure if anyone does this anymore. Back in the olden days, people would pop up out of the woodwork. Nowadays, not so much.

"So let’s see what happens."

I've taken part in Delurking Week, on & off over the 13 years I've been blogging (related posts now tagged here), and it's always fun to see old friends, occasional commenters and previously silent lurkers come out of the woodwork to say hello.

So -- come out, come out, wherever you are -- say hello (at least) and, if you like, tell me/us something about yourself. As always, I'm curious -- how did you find me, & how long have you been reading (if you remember)?

  1. I'm here! I found you through Mel's Barren Bi+ches (there's a good memory) back in 2007.

  2. I have zero memory how I found you, though it probably was through the book club. All I know is that I've been reading you for a looooooooooong time.

    1. I found you first. :) I lurked for a while and then started leaving an occasional comment, and I think I introduced myself at a Lushary gathering. :) You encouraged me to start this blog! <3

  3. Hello! I started reading about the time we were both moving, so 2016 I think. You've been a great support over the internet. I was thankful for the IF blogging community before 2020 but I'm especially thankful now. I like your thoughts on infertility and I enjoy reading your book reviews.

    1. I thought "Only 2016?" but I looked & that's when you started blogging, so it's probably right! -- feel like I've "known" you longer, though! Thank you for the compliments!

  4. I found you from Mel's blog. I almost never comment because I am lazy, but I faithfully read your posts and always look forward to them. I have started reading D E Stevenson novels thanks to your posts:). I always appreciate your childfree perspective and try to use your insights to be more inclusive and less annoying, as someone who has children. I used to have an infertility blog called Mrs Spock.

    1. I remember your name, if your not your story. Tickled that I've introduced you to D.E. Stevenson! :) Thanks for delurking!

  5. I can't remember how I found you either. Maybe through Mel but probably through Pamela, when I started blogging about no kidding stuff back in Nov ten years ago, and you already seemed well-established. You were also one of my very first commenters. Thank you for that!

I love that there is another woman around my age blogging about our lives and no kidding stuff. We have a lot of common, even though we're a world apart.

    3. Yes, among all English names of the countries of the world, Slovenia is the only one that includes the word LOVE <3

  7. I usually don't comment, as you know, but send you direct messages. But hi from Eve (if it doesn't show up), fellow blogger from simpler(?) times and mutual friend of a couple of others. 👋
