#MicroblogMondays: Cuteness overload :)

Dh called his his brother on Saturday afternoon to see what they were up to -- and got a very unexpected answer.

They were in the car, on their way to see about getting a new puppy!

They returned the following day (yesterday/Sunday) to pick up the little guy (or rather girl) and bring her home. She was born Christmas Day ( = about 12 weeks old). She's a petite golden doodle -- a cross between a spaniel and a poodle. Just 6 pounds, but will grow to be as large as 20 pounds. Hypoallergenic and non-shedding. And very sweet and cuddly (albeit not yet housebroken, lol).  :)

We went over to see her later that afternoon. Older Nephew and his wife came with Little Great-Nephew. They left their own dog (Cooper, a miniature dachshund, now 5+ years old) at home -- apparently the two shouldn't meet up until the puppy has all her shots. I know SIL misses having Cooper around since Older Nephew and family moved out.  LGN seemed a little miffed about having to share the spotlight at first ;)  but soon he & the puppy were chasing each other around and having a great time.

Meet Emma!  :)

  1. Those puppy dog eyes are so gorgeous! What is it about poodle crosses these days? My BIL and SIL in Australia have just got a border collie poodle cross puppy (a bordoodle, I am told). He's cute, and clever - already obeying "sit" and "down" commands. I wish I could visit him regularly. Enjoy Emma!

  3. Awww!!! Emma is sooo cute! My sister has a cockapoo (cocker spaniel/poodle) and my friend has a cavapoo (Cavalier King Charles spaniel/poodle) - I LOVE them. They are so friendly and sweet. And they're relatively easy (i.e. they respond instead of being stubborn) to train.

We just adopted a senior dog, who is supposed to be a Brussels Griffon mix. One of my librarians said she thought he might be part Shih Tzu, because of the way his tail curls. He's adorable, although he's getting comfortable enough to be a troublemaker. But he's mostly a very good boy who dislikes being locked up when we're not home.
