#MicroblogMondays: Only in my dreams

I had a baby dream last week. I don't know how I got the baby, but there was a baby, & it was mine, or at least mine to care for. I was living in a dorm-like setting (I have a lot of dreams where I am back in my university dorm, or something like it), and I left the baby in the lounge with some of the other residents to go to work.

When I returned, the baby was gone.

I started looking frantically -- & found the baby in a plastic bag in the trash can, head sticking out of the top. The baby was very tiny, and in distress -- sweaty & wrinkled/crumpled up-looking, and crying & frowning. I grabbed a glass of water, and then switched to a bottle, and as she chug-a-lugged the contents (of course it was she; don't ask me how I know that...), she filled out & grew and started smiling and cooing at me adorably.

I haven't had a baby dream in a long time, and I don't know why I had one now, let alone one that stuck in my mind long enough to write about -- but it was very bizarre. :p

Do you (still) dream about babies &/or pregnancy?

  1. It's been awhile since I've had baby dreams too. Usually the baby is suppose to represent an immature aspect of our lives, whether a new beginning, venture or project. It can also represent a change in direction.

Sending hugs. Those dreams are hard.

  2. I haven't had a baby dream for a long time. I don't think so at least, because somewhere in the back of my brain there is a faint reminder that maybe I did, quite recently too, though I cannot remember it. As Cristy said, those dreams are hard. Hugs.

  3. Oh wow, that would be a disturbing dream! I'm glad the baby in your dream ended up being okay. I rarely remember my dreams anymore, but when I do, it's usually a nightmare that something has happened to one of my babies.

  4. Ooof. That's a hard one for sure. I have baby and pregnancy dreams still, but I don't always remember all the details. The most recent one was being pregnant, giving birth, and having it be a kitten -- I was like, "Oh, I guess no baby for me after all." :-O Sending you hugs!

  5. I haven’t had one that I can remember in a long one, but like Mali said, I feel like maybe I have had one. I know I always wake up feeling very unsettled after I have had one and it takes me a while to feel ok again. (((Hugs)))

  6. Ouch! It's been a while since I had a baby dream, but the last "ouch" dream for me was us dropping our child off at college. That was a weird one.
