But -- 17 days of wall-to-wall coverage does get to be a bit much after a while...! (Although -- being in Canada, we did have excellent coverage through CBC and its partner cable networks, including several TSN and Sportsnet channels, as well as CBC's free Gem streaming service, which showed ALL the events.) I feel like I haven't done much else, and am now even further behind on my to-do list than I was when we got back home, after a full month away in Manitoba over Christmas (which included my mother's sudden death & funeral).
But as dh remarked near the end of the two weeks, "Sometimes I get bored with my regular routines... until I'm out of them!" lol I had to agree!
How about you? Sad or glad, or a bit of both?
You can find more of this week's #MicroblogMondays posts here.

I'm both, because Italy's time zone was pretty rough here in New Zealand, so it's good getting back to a more normal sleep routine! NZ has a small team - all but one (an alpine skier) in snowboard/freeski events, where Zoi, one of our competitors, became the most successful snowboarder in Olympic history. She started at 16, and we all feel like she's our little sister or kid! So I'd start watching at 10 pm, maybe get to bed by 1.30 or 2 am on a good night, then if we wanted to see the finals of snowboard/freeski etc (where NZ performs well, and one of our sportswomen - Zoi - with two more medals this year) we'd have to be up by 7.30. Anything in the middle of the night was ignored. Although our free-to-air channel (having ended our sports cable subscription last year) did a pretty good job of showing some of the other key events. I always like the biathlon, though, and I completely missed it this year. :-( But I love the excitement of the ski/snowboard cross races, and the split second differences in downhill or slalom or skeleton or speed skating. And because mostly we don't have competitors in other events, I don't care who wins. Though usually pick a talented underdog to cheer for! lol
ReplyDeleteI do love seeing the variety of sports that I only ever watch every four years. It's funny - suddenly we are all experts on difficulty and amplitude and big air and slopestyle etc! Then forget until the next Olympics.
