#MicroblogMondays: Back to "normal"

I missed out on a couple of #MMs over the Christmas season, but vowed to take part this week, get back into the habit of regular blogging. :)  I think this week will be all about trying to get back to some kind of routine & "normal" (whatever "normal" is, right?? lol).  Now, dh & I don't go to work anymore, and we don't have any kids to send back to school, but we've still developed some little routines & regular errands, etc., that we're looking forward to resuming this week. I love Christmas, and we enjoyed our vacation with my family, but between being there and all the statutory holidays, things open & then closed and then open again, etc., routine has gone WAY by the wayside.  There were days when I had absolutely no idea what day of the week it was.

How about you??

  1. I'm starting to get back into the swing of things after having surgery five weeks ago. Hubby took some time off to help out, and there were many days I had to check my phone or computer for the day of the week! :)

I find I'm calmer when I have a routine. I hope you can get back to yours in short order. And what is this, "normal" of which you speak? *grin*

  2. I love routine, and by the end of the holiday season, my daughter and I had developed a holiday routine! It was back to the old, mundane routine today, though, and it made me a little bit sad. Fortunately, I have vacation coming up in three weeks- so then I can develop my vacation routine! Looking forward to that!

  3. It's been interesting watching the world come alive again following the holiday break. There's still another two weeks before classes start at my institution, so it's still quiet, but life is starting to pick up there too. I think everyone needed the break.

  4. I always prefer my normal routine too! I technically didn't have to go back to the office until Wednesday, but I went yesterday just because I needed to get some structure back in my life.

  5. Husband and I love to watch the Sunday news shows -- Meet the Press and the ABC one.

I got so frustrated one morning because I couldn't find them. It's because it was Saturday! I'd lost track of the days, not having a rhythm.

    Glad you're back!

  6. I'm finding it hard to get back into the groove this week. I want to still be off routine. And sleeping.

  7. Here in the sunny southern hemisphere, much of the population is still on holiday. Though Tuesday was the official end of the Christmas/NY break, many businesses are still closed. My local cafe is shut till the 18th, and even my doctor's office is closed till next week. We ease back into the New Year here, which is quite nice. Even when I'm still at home, I feel as if I'm still on holiday!

  8. Oh, man it was tough to get up at 7:30 just to get Boo ready for school. So dark! I wear a watch that shows the day of the week - otherwise I'd be lost! I need to get a routine going as well.
